Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran, born March 10, 1949, is an American businesswoman and investor. She is also a lecturer as a consultant, columnist syndicated to a speaker as an author, author, and television presenter. The Corcoran Group is a New York City-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, the company was transferred to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran quit the firm shortly after. Corcoran has participated in 12 episodes of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. In February of 2020 Corcoran had signed 53 deals, with the most significant being a $350,000 deal that was able to cover 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children in an Irish-Catholic working class family. Florence, her mother was an errand-taker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father, was a skilled worker throughout Corcoran's childhood. Sometimes, the family relied on the delivery of food that was free from a friendly local grocer. Corcoran recalls her father as one who sometimes was a drinker and was rude to her mother and sneer, especially when he was drinking. Corcoran struggled throughout her schooling before discovering that she had dyslexia. Corcoran was a student at a Catholic elementary school in her neighborhood and started high school at St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran who was in the process of failing numerous classes in her first year of high school, was transferred to Leonia High School. There, she received a D.
