Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn, who was born August 19 1965, is an American actress. She is also an actor and producer. She is best known for her starring role as deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. As a result of her portrayal as Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. Following the seventh season, Sedgwick was awarded the Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in the year 2010. The show ended on August 13 on the 13th of August, 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her part in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated for a Golden Globe award in 1995 for her role on Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's film appearances include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) and What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The actress also appeared in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who works as a speech/family therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick, a venture investor. Her mother was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian descent. Sedgwick has stated that she is Jewish and has stated that she participates in Passover seders.
